Customer Review: Downfall for being too successful
Summary: 5 Stars

The game is alot cooler than I thought. There's definately alot of fun factor in the game. /train alone makes this game worth buying. The only issue I have right now is the bad server lag. Can't really blame them when there's like 12,000+ players on each server. I hope they fix that before retail.

Customer Review: all I can say is WOW about WoW!

OK, i have played alot of MMORPGs, starting with UO and ending with SWG, and can honestly say this is remarkable. I am still keeping my SWG account because JTL has kept it alive (barely) but I am going to be spending most of my time on WoW. Graphics are remarkabe, it runs smoother than SWG, and there is alot more content. Yes, there is some nasty lag in open beta, but that can be expected, its a BETA and its a stress test. thats what you get when there are 500,000 people trying to play the game before its released

Customer Review: I'm in WOW bata :)

I don't know about the min requermint, but I can tell you my pc's config, I have a P4 2.4, 512RAM, Geforce 5200 128MB
the installer is about 2.4GB, it took me half an hour to install, so it's big. I think I might need a better video card, coz in 1024x768 I only can use the lower setting.
I'm night elf hunter, LVL 10, now I can tamp beast now :D
the game is great, you have to see for yourself.

Customer Review: WOW...the abbreviated title says it all...

Currently I'm wandering around in the Open Beat of W.O.W...and I must say, it's better than I thought it would be. The Open Beta allowed me to create 9 characters on one server...I can only hope it stays this way for the final product so hard-core gamers can enjoy a little of each race, and maybe even enjoy other classes of each race on other servers.

I am also a player of FFXI...and I do know the pain of games that require a party once you reach certain levels. W.O.W. seems like a great solution for those of us who like the hard-core party oriented games since, if you have an account on each, when there's nobody to rock and roll with in FFXI, you can pop on to W.O.W. and get your MMORPG fix there even if nobody's really grouping up. The only thing I dislike is not being able to master multiple classes with one character, or all crafting jobs with one character. This is something I enjoy quite a bit in FFXI because you can make one character slot an Uber-Character who's mastering everything rather than doling out extra cash to have multiple characters (incidentally, if you want to do this in FFXI I highly reccommend the Hume or Mithra...they make great floaters). However, the apparent ability in W.O.W. to have multiple characters on one server at no penalty, which I hope stays that way, is a nice way to balance that out. If you're an Undead fan, make as many as there are classes and go all out. :-P

Onto the payment scheme...it's nice that Blizzard plans on letting people pay for months in advance at a lower fee. This also makes it easier on people like me who still want our FFXI fix because budgeting funds between the two is less of a thought provoking process. 12.95 a month for FFXI...then every six months pay Blizzard the fee for 6 months of gaming at 12.99...sounds like a good deal. I also like the idea of being able to purchase the game time in a store rather than have to use a credit card or Pay Pal. If you work a job where you get tips, you can toss your tip cash at W.O.W. and worry about auto-billing for only FFXI or whichever other MMORPG strikes your fancy. Blizzard seems to have thought all of this out very well so that people who are already dedicated to another game don't have to give it up to play theirs.

In conclusion, W.O.W. is a very nice bit of work...and I would expect no less from Blizzard. The company started small and expanded to make some of the most beautiful games for the PC that I have ever seen. And as a student of Computer Animation it's always impressive to see how lively the in-game animations are that they create and to get a good chuckle out of their sense of humor (if you've ever clicked on a Night Elf Huntress multiple times in WarCraft 3 you know what I mean). I have already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of W.O.W. and would urge any fans of Blizzard, WarCraft, or MMORPGs to do the same...this one is worth every penny.

Customer Review: From a Closed Beta tester...
Summary: 4 Stars

I have to say that this is, hands down, the most fun game I've ever played. The polish it had even in the third phase of the beta (when I got in) was better than some released games! The world itself is very stylized, an artistic take on the fantasy genre that will stand the test of time, even when photorealistic games look outdated. Gameplay is very easy, not hard to figure out, and everywhere you look are simple little finishing touches that make you feel immersed--deer and bunny rabbits roam the woods, rats scuttle around in the sewers--and the sunrises and sunsets are purely gorgeous.

The races are unique and interesting, with racial traits that make them vary from other races, even when you have the same character class. The game is based on a quest system, rewarding you for killing things you'd already be killing to level up by giving you a bonus to experience, some gold, and sometimes a nice item.

The 'end game' content is just being implemented, but the pvp aspect of the game is very entertaining, even without an established reward system (it's not in yet, chances are it'll be in by release). Two types of servers--Player vs. Player, and Player vs. Environment--greet you on starting a character, and the type you choose will determine your gameplay. In a pvp server, after the level of 20 you will find yourself in 'contested' zones, where the enemy faction (there are 4 races to each faction, 2 factions) members and you can engage in combat with no warning. Planned features include a reward and penalty system for fighting players near your level or far below, and rumors of a 'battlegrounds' area with huge battles including siege engines are just over the horizon.

All in all, the game is interesting, engaging, and above all, FUN as HECK! I highly recommend buying this game if you like playing MMORPGs and are looking to compete against players in pitched battles, or kicking the crap out of a dragon ^ ^
