Our 9 and 11 year old girls just love this game. They heard about it from a cousin and then found it at Blockbuster for rent. They would rent it every month or so until I put a stop to it saying we could have bought 2 copies by now! It turns out it was harder to find than I imagined. Thanks Amazon.
The game play from what I have seen is fairly imersive and any violence is pretty toned down so okay for kids. No blood and guts. The game is created in Japanese and translated to this English version. Consequently the girls are learning a little bit about another culture as they play. Reading is required to understand your missions or quests and the better you read the better you'll understand them. I'm a big fan of games like this for that very reason. It teaches children that reading is more than a task, it's fun.
I am very pleased with this title.
