Video Game Reviews of Hasbro Family Game NightCustomer Review: nice wii port of classic game Summary: 4 StarsMy kids are 4 and 6, and I find little game pieces in every crevice of our home. We love games.
The kids have played some of the games in HFGN: Sorry, Sorry Sliders, and Connect 4. The port of Sorry is a little easier to play than the original (they deal out 5 cards, and you can choose to play one of them), and that works better than the original for my kids. However, we play on a 25" TV, and the blocks are a little small on our screen. Sorry Sliders is probably the most fun: it really works on the Wii nicely. The other games are good, but the controls are a little clunky. It would have been nice if they included a round-robin tournament for 2-player games like Battleship and Connect 4, not unlike the way they do Table Tennis in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.
The game also awards trophies and prizes to each player, a lot like Mario Party 8. The kids really like that.
Overall, we like it. It has room for improvement, but it's fun for us
Customer Review: Fun game for the family! Summary: 5 StarsThis game is alot of fun. I'm a mom of 5 girls ages 12-8 and they all enjoy playing this. Boggle is a great game for kids to play, challenging and fun while learning! Battleship is also alot of fun. Graphics could be a tad better instead of having Mr Potato head around all the time they could have did something else but all in all this is a great game with many options. No exercise involved though : )
Customer Review: Classic Games, All Wii-Board Summary: 3 StarsWhen it has come down to video games, they honestly have become the latest things since sliced bread, especially with the Nintendo Wii. Since it came out in 2006, the system has really changed the way we play games at home. But, what about classic board games? Well, within the past several years, it feels like they've been replaced more and more today, with families spending less and less time with love and care. While Hasbro has constantly been advertising Family Game Night on television, it still is very sad that the love isn't there for kids to have that quality time. Now, Hasbro is going interactive, and trying to bring new life into the classics from the Parker Brothers, and Milton Bradley libraries for the Wii.
Hasbro Family Game Night for the Nintendo Wii, brings a compilation of classic games to a whole new generation, to know what it is like to play delightful and entertaining board games from the past like Connect Four, and Sorry! The game features the classic Mr. Potato Head as your host, as you play new and different ways through these classic titles. There are also few different ways you can customize you gameroom, and Mr. Potato Head himself, which is alright, but the gameplay is all what should matter. There are very few titles that are available, just the traditional games like Yahtzee!, Boogle, Sorry!, Connect Four, Battleship, and Sorry! Sliders, a shuffleboard spinoff on the classic board game. The graphics are nicely detailed, but there really are a few faults with the game. The first of which is that honestly, there could've been more games to reintroduce the Hasbro lineup to the next generations. I really was hoping that there could've been great titles like Scrabble, Trouble, Life, and Monopoly that should've been showcased here, but that honesly doesn't do enough for Wii gamers, and at thr price of nearly $40. That doesn't do much in fun.
All in all, Hasbro Family Game Night could've been a fair buy for the Nintendo Wii, but honestly I really thought there should've been a lot more that needed to be added to make the feeling that families can have fun again feel like it is a sad and deep crash and burn. While Hasbro Family Game Night was a good concept, it misses the mark, and tells us that families playing together isn't there anymore. It just has been replaced with too much work, and not anymore love.

Customer Review: Lasted about 30 minutes Summary: 1 StarsMy kids are 6 and 8 and were done after about 30 minutes of playing this game.
If your family enjoys these board games, then play the board games. Trying to play them on the Wii just doesn't work.
Not only did I have to explain the game rules (which is fine), but then I had to explain how to get it all done using the Wii remote. "Sorry" was particularly frustrating since it's a board game we already own. It would have been so much simpler, and faster, to just haul out "Sorry" and play it rather than try to re-explain how to play it on the Wii.
It's cute and looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, but it just isn't. My oldest was dying to play "Battleship." After about 1/3 through, she turned to me and said, "I want to be done."
"Me too," I said.
