Customer Review: If I could give it zero stars, I would...don't waste your money!
Summary: 1 Stars

This is one of the worst things I've ever purchased. I have a couple other wii fit type games and this is awful. Truly, don't waste your money. The exercises are monotonous and you can literally sit on the couch and get the remote to "do" the exercises. Awful. I'd be ashamed to have my name on this if I was Jillian.

Customer Review: HOLY CRAP!!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

here's a cheat code for the game....you ready? run in place on the balance board throw quick little jabs. That's the whole game. You'll expend more energy finding that out than doing the work-outs.
- rowing: running in place
- jumping to different logs: running in place
- jog: running in place( the faster you go does not change avitars speed)

Customer Review: Too bad Jillian's name is associated with this...not your typical Wii game
Summary: 1 Stars

Honestly, I was so excited to get this game! What a MAJOR disappointment! That will teach me for not checking reviews before buying. I have Wii Fit and Wii Active and both games respond perfectly to my moves and the timing is excellent. The running is absolutely boring. I expected something with high energy from Jillian Michaels. The boxing and kicking...oh my! I boxed and kicked so hard just to try to get the avatar to move a little bit! Every once in a while it would kick, but I surely burned more calories trying to prove to it that I was moving! Very very disappointed with this Wii game.

Customer Review: Do not purchase this title
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased the Wii Fit Plus from Target and this title was in the box as a bonus. I have been using the basic Wii Fit Plus CD and thought I would give this a try. It actually locked up my Wii.

1. Very little instruction on how to get started - does not tell you what to do.
2. I finally found the area to begin training, started the warm up, went for 2 minutes, then it stopped. The Wii remote stopped working (batteries were fine) - no voice or visual direction. I finally turned off the machine and ejected the disk.

It was basically free - so I can't return it. But if I had purchased the product, I certainly would. I cannot imagine that Jillian, or anyone that cares about the customer experience, has ever watched this game. Does not come close to the quality of the basic Wii Fit Plus, or any other Wii games we own.

A waste of plastic. My ultimatum, take this thing off the market. It is killing your brand. It certainly did for me.

Customer Review: Difficult to learn but very effective....
Summary: 3 Stars

I love Jillian on Biggest Loser & was so excited when DH brought this one home for me after I got so into the Wii Fit but wanted more cardio options. Initial observations were that the instructions are horrible & the graphics are archaic. A dark & dreary atmosphere that doesn't motivate you to work out.
The first time I tried the workout I was so frustrated I nearly returned it. I worked SO HARD trying to make the program register my movements that I spent the next day hobbling around like I'd been in an accident. Two days later I gave it another try & I was finally able to make my avatar run. Within the next month I was able to master several of the other exercises. Log rolling & boxing have never worked. Log jumping, paintball grenades & the tire course are possible but way too strenuous for anyone with less than steel knees. The best option I found was to create my own 10 minute workout that went: run, handcart, run, monkey bars & run. Monkey bars really work the arms, handcart is great for squats & the running was good cardio.
So many of the tasks require near jumping (jump from a squat movements), but because you can't actually jump on the balance board I found myself throwing out my low back by thrusting my body upward & then pulling back the force so I wouldn't jump. This put a huge amount of strain on my low back.

Until I bought the Wii Fit Plus, last week, I would do all the yoga, all the strength training & one cardio exercise (usually advanced hula hoop & sometimes also the stepping) on the Fit & then 10 minutes on Jillian. Those 10 minutes can be entered into the Fit program's activity log as HARD exercise.

I tell everyone that I love this program but I don't recommend it to anyone. I would suggest buying or upgrading to the Wii Fit Plus to get the extra cardio options, the calorie counter, colorful, upbeat graphics, games & exercises where the process & the result vary every time you play it.

The one thing I can thank Jillian for is teaching me to run on the balance board. I read some reviews that note dissatisfaction with the running technique & I can totally relate to them, as that's how I felt at first. However, Jillian's way of running on the board reduces the strain on my knees. By planting your feet firmly & then lifting only your heels while keeping your upper body centered over your knees you can feel the muscles in your thighs & hips working without the knee pain I would normally feel on a regular-type run. Mastering this type of running is worthwhile as it can be used in both the Wii Fit & Wii Fit Plus programs. In the Plus it makes things like the cycling, running & the rhythm marching easier to do.
The other tip for anyone using this program & feeling like you're putting out way more than you get credit for, if you want to cheat (at least while running) just make sure to do big movements with your arms. Not swinging back to front like on a jog, but more like punching forward or pushing your hands into the air above your head. Either one will register a better overall score and your avatar will run faster.

Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend this program. But if you already have it there are some ways to benefit from it. After just a couple weeks my family was noticing smaller hips & thighs on me. Man, those squats are killer! :)
