Video Game Reviews of Wireless Sensor Bar for Wii

Customer Review: Easy to Setup & Use
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased this as the setup in my room had the original bar running across the room, making it easy for someone to trip over the wire. The wireless bar, is super easy to use and setup. Just added the batteries, turned it on and unplugged the wired bar and it all worked great. Highly recommend it. It's nice to not have to worry about the wire.

Customer Review: Wireless sensor bar for on-the-wall TV
Summary: 2 Stars

I was so excited to find a wireless sensor bar. We have a TV that hangs on the wall and the wire was distracting. My problem is that the sensor bar does not stick to the underside of the TV. To stick it to the top of the TV takes away much of the ease using the remote. i.e. the "hand" you need to make selections is difficult to bring up. When I used double sided tape to stick it on the bottom of the TV the sensor worked much better but it fell off quickly. BUMMER!

Customer Review: Get this.
Summary: 4 Stars

The Wii sensor bar that comes with the system is garbage and useless so throw it out and get this.

reason being, i find this more precise when using the Wii remote, and better when playing at a distance.
Now the only problem i have is that it takes batteries, and that i gotta get up and hold down the Power button to turn off. Otherwise this is a great accessory.

Customer Review: Does exactly what it says it does
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this wireless sensor bar after deciding to renovate our basement and purchase a LCD TV to mount on the wall. We plan on keeping the Wii and other components about 10' from where the TV will be, so using the sensor bar that comes with the Wii was out of the question.

I've had the product for a little more than a month now and it has worked great. I sometimes forget to turn it on before I sit down on the couch, but that is just my bad memory and no fault of the sensor bar itself. The only minor annoyance I have with the product itself is the extremely bright LED light on the front of the sensor bar, but it isn't enough to downrank the product. I really appreciate the audible alarm that can be turned on to go off after the sensor bar has been on for one of the preset lengths of operation (1 hr or 2 hrs). This really helps forgetful people such as myself from draining a set of batteries unneccessarily. To top it all off, it comes with the 4 AA batteries that you need so it works right out of the box! I highly recommend it for people in situations where the wired sensor bar is not an option or for those who tend to play further than the range of the wired bar.

Customer Review: Not a game, but makes Wii setup much more fun (and aesthetically pleasing)
Summary: 5 Stars

First off, this sensor bar was not an option for me, it was a requirement. I have a front-projection home theatre set-up with a Mitsubishi 720p projector on an 8-foot screen. The living room is ~24 long (from projector to screen) and 17 wide. Without this sensor, I wouldn't have been able to have the Wii in the back office with the projector. Now we just turn this baby on and play without having to worry about running a useless, tiny black cord through the living room.

As other reviewers have noticed, all this device does is emit a signal that the Wiimotes then use to translate your motion to the Wii. We have perfect control from anywhere within the living room and parties with Mario Kart are especially fun when you're 1/4 of the screen is still 4x4 feet!

For the price, this device would be worth the convenience factor alone. The fact that it increases Wiimote range, turns itself off after a timer, and is supremely easy to set up and use (i.e. even my boyfriend could use it and he's tech-hopeless), this device deserves all 5-stars.
