Customer Review: Great buy for the price, no more wasting batteries

I have wanted a controller charger for my wii since I bought it, but in any electronics store this item goes for around $30. This is less than 1/3 the price, and I like the colorful displays-I don't have to check anything, you can see from clear across the room whether the charging is complete. Each side has separate indicators, with lights on the bottom and in each cradle to tell you exactly what's going on.
I read other reviews about the usb being inconvenient, or that the wii must be turned on for the unit to charge, but I really don't see the big deal. If your wii is updated you don't have to leave it on, there are plenty of affordable usb to ac adaptors (I even had a spare ac charger lying around that fit)...and who doesn't have a spare usb port nowadays? I charge it from my laptop.
As far as how long each charge lasts, I find that it is the same or better than the rechargeable batteries I've been using/recharging. It does state on the packaging that prior to first use you must charge the units for 12 hours, and that if you fail to do so it will reduce battery life....perhaps that is a problem some users are experiencing. Frankly, I find that setting the controllers in the cradle after I use them is MUCH more convenient than taking the back off, removing the batteries, digging up my charger, waiting, and then putting it all back together-not to mention the fact that I usually forget and only find out my batteries are dead when I'm ready to play. That convenience alone is worth the less than $9 (shipping included) price tag.
