Customer Review: My First Game-Love!

Even though I have played multiple snes & ps2 games since The Legend of Zelda... even though I have a lvl 80 night elf death knight in World of Warcraft and am eagerly awaiting The Cataclysm release... The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past remains my all-time favorite game. The graphics are cartoon-like, but sharp & have good color. The hero is a little guy who grows up through the course of the game yet remains a little guy :). I love mysteries, scavenger hunts, and the like, and Zelda provided a challenging set of puzzles that I still enjoy solving even though I already know the outcome! For my money, it is a classic that no gamer should miss. The game is long enough to be an epic adventure while maintaining the gamer's interest - there is no point at which I have said, "geez, I wish this part was over with already!" There are little perks that add to the game's enjoyability - like harassing chickens until they swarm... Despite it's linearity, it remains challenging with the strategies one must develop, the skills required to negotiate the numerous dungeons, and an excellent story line that unfolds as one progresses through the game.
I love the fact, too, that Amazon still has these classic games available through various vendors so that later generations can continue to enjoy the games from which I actually learned gaming. I'm a 53 year old adolescent mom! I started out on Legend of Zelda & Final Fantasy - taught my son how to play those, and now rely on him for help with the MMORPGs that I'm addicted to today. Playing Zelda again gives me a nostalgic feeling of youth - I know, I have a really active imagination! :D
