Summary: 4 Stars
Overall, I give this game 4 stars. The graphics are above average (though not great), and if you lose a life during one of the two overhead-view levels, they become scrambled for a moment. There are neat little stills from the movies before and after each level of the game, but to me it looks like someone stuck them in there without touching them up at all so that they'd look better on the Game Boy Color's display. The actual gameplay is pretty nice. Simba moves around at a reasonable speed (not too slow and not too fast), and the game's responsiveness to the controls is also pretty nice. I found the game overall to be pretty entertaining. I think younger kids might enjoy it the most, though. And, as a side note, it really bugs me that the adult Simba in the game is smaller than the young Simba.
Description of Lion King 2: Simba's Mighty Adventure
Take control of young Simba and guide him to adulthood in DISNEY'S THE LION KING: Simba's Mighty Adventure. Simba must navigate through 10 levels, where he must collect all of the stars that are scattered about. If he can collect all of the pieces of the lion amulet, Simba can participate in one of four mini-games like Bug Drop, Bug Tennis, and Hunt the Bugs. However, a large number of enemies stand in his way, including hyenas, scorpions, snakes, and vultures. Luckily, Simba can pounce on the enemies to get rid of them or roar to scare them off. If your friends want to play along, they can join you in a game of Tag via a link cable. Help Simba become an adult and protect the pride lands in DISNEY'S THE LION KING: Simba's Mighty Adventure.Lion King 2: Simba's Mighty Adventure allows players to control Simba as he grows from a cub to an adult lion. The films Lion King and Simba's Pride inspired the game's 10 hyena-, scorpion-, snake-, and vulture-filled levels. There are four bonus games, including Bug Tennis, Bug Drop, and Hunt the Bugs. Link Mode allows players to compete via the Game Link cable, sold separately. Collect stars and hidden amulet pieces for secret game surprises.
