Customer Review: Best control I have owned Summary: 5 StarsUnlike the official Dreamcast control the moment you pick this baby up it just feels right. The rubber grips provide better handling in just about all game I have played with it with exeception to Seaman as the mic doesn't tend to work as well with it as it does the official control. The remap buttons are very helpful for changing button layout in the middle of a game which is very helpful more often than you think. My only problem is the life span of the control I had mine for 6 months and now it will not work correctly and shorts out basicly the equivilent to un-plugging and plugging it back in but I do intend on buying another one.
Customer Review: Almost as good as the Sega one Summary: 4 StarsIf you're a fighting game fan (and don't need an arcade stick), you basically need a pad with six buttons, and this is the only good choice. It's easy to program (and comes preset to most Capcom games anyway), and the analog stick is much firmer than the Sega one (also good), but unfortunately anybody with small hands will HATE this. It's really big, and the buttons are laid out badly (instead of repositioning the original 4, they stuck on Z and C). The D-pad is very nice, but the buttons don't go down easily. All in all, though, if you absolutely must have the extra two buttons (which you do for most Capcom stuff) this is the best option next to an arcade stick. Otherwise, don't bother.
Customer Review: Almost right Summary: 4 StarsMy only real complaint about this controller is the placement of the buttons. I mainly play Street Fighter style fighting games, and I use my fingers to hit the buttons, but they were obviously designed for your thumb. I don't know why they thought I'd want to push six buttons with my thumb. The buttons should have been laid out horizontally, or at most about half the angle they're at. The Z and C buttons have a slightly different feel to them than the other four, though while I'm playing I usually don't notice this. Some people have complained about the placement of the program button, but I very rarely hit it by accident. One slightly annoying thing is that since the direction pad is made of rubber, I keep having rubber dust collect around it every time I play. It makes me wonder how long it will take for the thing to wear off entirely...
Customer Review: I would have given this 0 stars if I could. Summary: 1 StarsThis controler stinks. The joystick is messed up and turned at a slight angle (so you have to go slightly up and right to go straight up), the rubber grips fall off in the first week, and worst of all, it's confusing. I tried programing the buttons (because it's "fully programable") and believe it or not it works! sure you can't train whole sets of commands (like moves in fighting games) in, only replot the buttons but it works. The only problem comes in when you accidently press the clear button with a light in it and all of the sudden, none of the buttons perform the X action. Then, this controller will probably be unplugged and sent to the attic just like mine. Enjoy!:(
