Customer Review: It Works..

At first, I was furious that product didn't work for me..despite the mostly positive reviews. I still, however, refused to accept that the Nintendo was being truthful when they said "only official Nintendo LAN adapters will work." I did a little digging online and found out that if you're having trouble getting results from this product, you should try hooking it up to another device that already has an established internet connection.
Some Tips:
-Make sure the wii is turned off or unplugged before connecting the adapter.
-Don't forget to ake sure internet sharing is enabled on the other device (I used my laptop).
-Connect the LAN adapter to the other device with an Ethernet cord long enough to allow you to still use it with ease if you care to multi-task (Mine is 15 feet long for an average-sized dorm room).
Also:
I haven't tried this as I was pretty impatient and saw immediate results with my computer..but if you're still having trouble..I also read that after hooking the adapter up to the internet (using a router or other method) and plugging in the wii (without turning it on), you should let it sit for a while (a couple hours was suggested?) to establish a base connection with the wired source. On occasion, the wii will still try to connect wirelessly..regardless of what you select or if a source is available or not..Then try it again!
