Video Game Reviews of Carnival GamesCustomer Review: Fun games Summary: 4 StarsWe intially bought this game to give our 5-year-old some more playing options on our Wii, but it turns out that my husband and I both enjoy the games as much as the 5-year-old does. It's not a serious gaming kind of game, and I'll admit it is a bit corny and silly, but it's a fun game for all ages.
Some of the games are a bit difficult for the 5-year-old, but she was able to do quite well on a few of them after playing them a few times. She has fun getting points and tickets and redeeming them for the costume items. And for that matter, some of the games provide a challenge for the adults. We didn't just play the first time and master every single game.
As you work your way through the different games, you can unlock super versions of several games, adding more game options. And as you do well in these super versions, you win even more prize items. You can redeem lower level prize items for higher value items as well.
I don't know that this is the best game we have in our Wii game arsenal, but it's a fun diversion from our other games, and I'm sure it will get a lot of play time.
Customer Review: A lot of games to play Summary: 4 StarsCarnival has a lot of fun games that you'd find at a Six Flags or other theme park. Only, you're not giving away real money. The games are fun (and difficult just like in real life); the "hosts" of each game are sarcastic yet funny. It's a fun game for all ages and good goofy graphics. I recommend this game and "Playground" as two good, interactive games.
Customer Review: "Step Right Up!!" Summary: 5 StarsCarnival Games has quickly become one of my family's favorite games for our Wii system. This fun-filled, interactive game comes with over 25 of your favorite carnival games, including jumping frogs, dunk tank, skee ball, ring toss, and others. As with other Wii games, you can create your own character to play the games. You even receive prizes and coupons, too.
Instructions are given before each game so you'll know exactly how to play. There are even wise-cracking carnival workers who poke fun at the players!
I give this fun game my highest recommendation. Try Carnival Games and play some of your favorite games from the midway!
Customer Review: Surprised to see so many good reviews... Summary: 1 StarsSeems like a lot of people really like this game, but I don't care for it.
Takes a long time to master controls, but no real pay off once you do, becuase the games are not that interesting.
Weak character design
Slow to start and change games
I DO like other short, mini-game style games on the Wii, including Rayman Rabbids (1 and 2), Wario Ware, and even Wii Play.
Since there seems to be a real split in reviews, I suggest people to rent/borrow/buy used to avoid a let down.
Customer Review: BAAAAAD! Summary: 1 StarsI don't write many reviews and when I do it's usually a 5 as I don't want to waste time on a product I don't like. Well folks, I'm doing this one for YOUR benefit.
The good:
Amazon charged me less that the Retail Stores and got it to me quickly.
It's similar to a real carnival in that most of their games are rip-offs too...the only difference is a real carnival can be fun!
The BAD:
Poorly designed interface.
Some games you can't play in certain modes.
During my first attempt to play this game there were 3 people wanting to play. I have 2 controllers (maybe I'm the only one in the country who only has two but it was never an issue on any of the Wii Sports or other games as there is no "simultaneous" action.) When I stated I had 3 players and 2 controllers or 1 controller I got the message "you cannot play this game". Ridiculous!
I've only had this game a few days and I bought it on a "friends" recommendation. My recommendation, SAVE YOUR MONEY!
