Video Game Reviews of Carnival Games

Customer Review: 33 Games: you bring the excitement/fun, the game brings the precise controls
Summary: 3 Stars

One player or up to 4 using wii remote only taking turns or simultaneously.
You start out with Mii wannabees (adult man & woman, child boy & girl) whose faces all look stoned or mildly scary, VERY limited hair, shirt, pants & shoes choices that are hard to really see to care which ones.
When you games, you win prices, either small, medium, large prizes (stuff animals that you just look at, or character clothes accessories) depending on how well you do. If you have several in one level, they can be upgraded to the next level & after large you can upgrade to jumbo which will open up one of the few locked game in that area/street.
Games have great precise controls that work/used like as doing the action in real life, but the graphics are very flat & lack depth perception & it's hard to judge distance. Only practice & muscle memory will help you to fine tune how much speed/force to use.
Many games have a video replay or long video of your shot which is VERY boring/ annoying. Some you can skip like a good shot at golf or skeet-ball, but bad shots you cannot which is irritating.
Sometimes a monkey, gopher, UFO or bird will appear in an alley/way, click on them 1-3x to get bonus clothing accessories.

Here's a list of the games:
Fortune Way:
Alley Ball - skeet ball, good controls, cute
Test Your Strength - shake wii very vigorously, when gauge high, hit button, very tiring, takes more effort/speed then even Mario & Sonic Olympics
Hoops - Simple hoop/board that is far away that you have 30 seconds to throw baskets. Your wrist must be precise as any twist to it will aim too far left/right & you must put good speed/force to get it all the way back to reach. Great controls, I did best holding the wii like a real basketball & jumping, love this game.
Collection Plate - side throw coin unto plate, cute.
Unlockable:
Super Alley Ball - large bumpers or moving bumpers you can't hit, more fun
Super Hoops - same look, but the hoop moves fwd/back & turns sideways in those 30 seconds. Actually much easier then Hoops, requires less force & love it as well.
Tickets:
15 - Fortune teller - answers yes/no only - silly

Claw Alley:
Clown Splash - shake remote fast/tight & aim to fill mouth to balloon w/water, cute.
Hole in One - 3 balls, one putting area & hole moves each time, the 3rd one has a clown mouth that closes/opens very fast (too fast to really guage) which makes it very hard, I played many times trying to sink that last one. Video replay is VERY slow annoying & there's no way to FFW it. Should you miss the first shot, exiting the game brings you back out to the alley, you cannot just restart.
Ring Toss - over 20 bottles, good controls, it's ok
Ka-Pow - target moves across lines of stuffed clown faces & only about timing to hit it, addicting.
Unlockable:
Super Hole in One - 6 balls, 6 different putting areas w/wood bumpers or shaped course like usual boring mini golf. Horrible waiting to watch ball react & then always a few seconds after ball stops, boring.
Super Ring Toss - ring is like a hula hoop, only 5 bottles that move & suppose to get as many bottles in the hula hoop at once, it's ok.
Tickets:
Claw - like that claw you move w/joystick to grab plethora of stuffed toys/prizes inside, I got one, but boring since poor depth perception.

Love Lane:
Spilled Milk - 3 balls, 3 bottles, target moves around fast, so it's a timing issue, cute
Frog Leap - 5 frogs, you can aim & decide force, middle one gives you a bonus prize, it's ok
Balloon Darts - use wii like dart & small/tight/fast movement will help you stay on aimed target, cute/ very easy
Bowler Coaster - spin the ball & release so goes just far enough into safe zone, no further or closer, lame.
Unlockable:
Super Spilled Milk - 6 balls, 6 levels, increasing amount of bottles, get points for every bottle that falls, fun.
Super Balloon Darts - 30 second time limit, fun
Tickets:
15 - Love-meter - just pose & randomly tells you how great you are - lame

Lucky Pass:
Nerves-O-Steel - thread hoop wire w/o touching in timed limit for 3 rounds, wii vibrates if touch - cute/semi-easy
Lucky Cups - toss ball into the only few red, gold or green, not blue cups, it's ok
Day at the Races - toss balls lightly into holes for points to make horse move & win race, cute
Dunk Tank - 3 balls, 3 levels, aiming moves fast pre-determined path so it's about timing. Target gets smaller on each level, it's ok.
Unlockable:
Super Circle Drop - cover red circle/spot w/5 smaller blue disks.. lame.,
Super Day at the Races - same as other, except wooden obstacle that moves is in your way, more interesting, cute.
Tickets:
25 - Push a prize - push 25 coins into coins sitting on moving levels to push down to win coins like ones in arcade/carnival.

Rodent Row:
Shooting Gallery - hit ducks, compete w/others at the same time for same ducks, fun/addicting
Pigskin Pass - aim & throw football past moving tire in 3 rounds & 3 chances, difficult/cute.
Shoot for the Stars - cover star w/300 bullets - boring/lame
Buckets of Fun - soft throw ball into bucket so doesn't fall out, boring
Unlockable:
Super Pig Skin - shake wii remote very vigorously & then choose angle to throw football, boring/lame
Super Old West Shootout - limited time/bullets - moving targets, moving cans, stationary cans, bottles, targets in windows to shoot, cute/boring, could have had more going on.
Tickets:
25 - Going Nuts - catch acorns as they fall into basket using wii like steering wheel.

Games that make it worth buying:
Hoops, Super Hoops, Test your strength, Super alley ball, Ka-Pow, Super spilled milk, Super balloon darts, Shooting gallery

This came could have been so much more, but it's a bit boring & has no excitement factor, although great controls & use of wii. The prizes other then unlockable games are lame/annoying.

Customer Review: Alright family game
Summary: 3 Stars

This game can take up to 4 controllers, and has lots of different games to play of various challenge levels. But my 5 year old didn't seem to get into it as much as I thought he would. Playgound was a better choice for him. My husband and I like it but find ourselves playing Wii Sports, or Wii Fit because they are more fun. Not to say this isn't fun, it is just there is only so much time in the day and, given the other games we have, this one seems to be the last picked.

Customer Review: Great for kids, fun for adults, too.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my kids (5, 6 and 8) because it wasn't fair to them that the only Wii games I had (at that time) were mainly for the adults. They LOVE this game, and I enjoy it too. It's not the most exciting game around, but at least it truly utilizes the Wii's special abilities. If you enjoy Wii Sports you'll enjoy Carnival as well.

Customer Review: Totally Fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great game to play when you have a few people over - both adults and children. There are over 25 games to play which really gives this a long shelf life. Many of the games favor different skills so everyone will find a few games that they can get really good at. All of your favorite carnival games are here: ski ball, basketball toss, ring toss, duck shoot, dunking booth, and more.

What really impressed me about the game were the graphics and the sound. They went out of their way to create an told timey carnival feel with the design, voices, sound effects, and soundtrack.

Customer Review: Full of fun
Summary: 4 Stars

My son recommended Carnival Games to me for my new Wii. I have tried it and love most of the games, a few of them not so much. I am work at throwing things with the controller so that will get better. Definitely a great game for the family to do things together.
