Video Game Reviews of Atari Flashback 2 Plug and PlayCustomer Review: Could not find favs Summary: 2 StarsAdvertised my favorite game and although I went through all the games I can't find it, i believe the name is Snake Pit. Did not come with directions and I can't figure out how to end a game without resetting. More difficult to operate than the original.
Customer Review: Not what we expected at all Summary: 1 StarsMy husband and I ordered this game thinking it would have the games we grew up with on it. I should have done some research before ordering because it didn't have a single game we expected. We both had the Atari when we were kids and enjoyed games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers and many more, but not one of these games or others from that time frame were included. Just be sure to see a list of included games before you order so you're not disappointed. We returned ours because we were totally unhappy with it.
Customer Review: An Atari Flashback must have over 800 Atari Games Summary: 5 StarsI think it could be better if this Atari Flashback would have all the Atari 2600 games which is even more amusing than 40 Atari 2600 games. This includes hard-to-find Atari 2600 games. I think this is a suggestion that should be done so more Atari fans would love to play all the Atari 2600 Games. Perhaps maybe a list of all the Atari 2600 games should be listed.
Customer Review: blast from the past Summary: 5 StarsThis is a fun trip down memory lane. It's funny to look at these games with what we know about video games now. So much fun back then... A lot of fun now, too, but just don't have the same appeal they once did, not that we have seen there is more to the genre.
This is definitely something that will bring back a lot of memories and is enjoyable. It's a more authentic experience than software for other computers. If you're looking for that, it's worth a shot.
Customer Review: Worth Buying, but the Selection of Games is Odd. Summary: 4 StarsIt's glad to see some Atari 2600 games are back! Like many other players, this is where I got my start. And surprisingly, many of these games are still as addictive as ever. I really love Haunted House, Maze Craze, Adventure, Centipede, Millipede, Aquaventure, Missile Command, Off the Wall, Pitfall, and River Raid.
Okay, time to get down to the facts, the Flashback 2.0 has many games built-in it. However, your old cartages can't be used on this system as there is no cartage slot. The good news is this system can be hooked up to your TV via A/V cord for superior picture and sound than the original RF adapter Atari 2600. The system looks really good and even allows you to play the games in black & white like the original! Also, the Flashback 2.0 comes with two awesome replicas of the original Atari controllers, but these even surpass the oldies in comfort.
In closing, this a GOOD trip down memory lane. However, it's not a GREAT trip down memory lane as I said there are too many strange choices of games. For instance, instead of using the original Asteroids they include an inferior version called Arcade Asteroids and the Pong game doesn't even work - Serious! They include a decent amount of "homebrew" games from recent years, but a fair amount of them aren't that fun. Also, there are too few Actvision games included.
TOP SECRET INFORMATION: THERE ARE TWO HIDDEN PADDLE GAMES ON THE FLASHBACK 2.0!
To unlock Warlords and Super Breakout spell out the year "1972" on the first screen by pressing UP once, DOWN nine times, UP seven times, and DOWN two times. However, to play these games you will need the paddle controller which is not included, but can be found pretty easily online.
