I played this first about six years ago, when the three part collection came out.
Riven is still the best computer game of I've ever played. This should be one of those special cases where one can give six stars for something that is truly outstanding.
One very important aspect of Riven is that all puzzles have a logic and purpose to them that most adventure games lack. In one way that makes them much easier, because they make _sense_, even though some of the puzzles are themselves complex. In the balance, I'd much rather have complex and logical than simple and nonsensical.
The payoff is that Riven is one of the few games that comes complete with a heady sense of accomplishment when you make it through.
