While many people of today will not know Double Dragon, back in the days of gaming greatness it was fairly well known. I played all three games and this has been my favorite from the series.
The story is very generic, the bad guy is mad that Billy and Jimmy, the red and blue main characters, beat him so he kidaps your girlfriend, again. Now you must battle through the mean city streets and find where he is.
The levels are different, ranging from the city streets, the river front, and various enemy base, and even a mid game brawl inside of a helicopter. Each enviornment has dangers that you must avoid but you can also use them to dispose of your foes, like in the helicopter when the door opens, anyone near will be sucked out of the door, so be careful.
The boss battles are difficult and fun. You battle large behemoths and dual ninjas that rush all over the screen and throw knives. Although many regular enemies are all repetitive sprites but will attack from all sides and will attack with fists, whips, chains, knives, and whatever other weapons you can imagine, which you can also use as well.
Overall I believe that anyone who enjoys classic games should check this title out. I am sure you will be impressed, especially if you like River City Ransom or Streets of Rage.
